The Emotional Cockpit

At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, USA, held from January 7 to 10, 2025, Continental premiered its “Emotional Cockpit,” a display concept merging cutting-edge display technology with our unique Swarovski design elements. The result is an emotive and individual connection with drivers, achieved through intuitive handling. The Emotional Cockpit also features an AI assistant and small interactive widgets.

The “Emotional Cockpit” combines exquisite design with state-of-the-art display technology, showcasing how displays behind our precision-cut Swarovski crystals bring a luxurious look to the interior of the vehicle. With an intuitive operating concept centered around a floating crystal element and an “Aurora Borealis” coating for impressive and highly emotive color gradients, the design offers innovative options for personal expression of style, emotion, and character.

Luxurious Ambiance Thanks to Two Crystal-Framed Displays

The “Emotional Cockpit” stood out with its two integrated displays framed in our crystals, which are organically incorporated into the dashboard for a seamless appearance. The control element rises from the center of the dashboard, floats freely in space and is the central input unit for the driver and front passenger. Located beneath the transparent Swarovski crystal surface, a display is equipped with dimming technology, which controls the display backlighting to achieve greater brightness and, above all, deeper black.

The "Widget Crystal" is a central interaction surface on the dashboard, encased in our crystals, acting as the intuitive interface for an AI assistant and interactive widgets. These elements provide information on the weather, location or charging status at a glance. Advanced micro-LED display technology is housed behind our carefully cut crystals. The transparent design of both the display and our crystal casing creates the impression that the displayed content is floating freely inside.

Fascinating Color Gradients: Special-Effect Coating Provides Visual Highlights

A standout feature is the "Aurora Borealis" coating on our crystals. Inspired by the Northern Lights, this coating created mesmerizing color gradients and reflections, adding an emotive dimension to the vehicle interior.

Our Swarovski Mobility partnership with Continental is built upon the success of the Crystal Center Display—a CES Innovation Award Honoree in 2024. Already last year, we proved that our luxurious crystal elements combined with Continental's latest automotive display technology bring impressive aesthetics to the vehicle interior. Through our intensified collaboration for the “Emotional Cockpit,” we realized our innovative strength around crystal as well as our vision of a vehicle interior that appeals to all the senses.
