Disney X Swarovski Kick Off D23 Fan Event – 15 Years of Magic and Sparkle

Disney fans around the world gathered in Anaheim, California, from August 9 through 11, 2024, for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. The name “D23” pays homage to the year 1923, when Walt Disney opened his first studio in Hollywood. 

A 5-meter-tall sorcerer’s hat

In collaboration with Disney, our extraordinary savoir-faire captivated 100,000 guests with a dazzling 5-meter-tall Sorcerer’s Hat from the animated musical movie Fantasia. The piece took 1,700 hours to create and shimmered with 15,023 of our crystals as well as 40 Swarovski Sublima Moons glistened on the crescent detail. 

We created additional magic with beautiful products displayed in the custom-designed 158 square meters pop-up space. Our Visual Merchandising and Marketing colleagues delivered a breathtaking presentation that was surely a fan favorite. Every touchpoint- point of purchase layout, visual posters, video content, signage, lighting, and displays- highlighted our savoir-faire. Guests were captivated by our archive’s mesmerizing collection of limited editions including the 2015 Cinderella Slipper, XL Black Panther, Mickey & Friends, Darth Vader, and the New Avengers Myriad. The sales floor also showcased our latest Lion King collection, and a curated assortment of Disney and Marvel jewelry and home décor by our Licensing and Merchandise Planning team experts. An interactive B2B crystallized Mickey ears wall display backdrop allowed customers to play in crystals and have their photograph taken. B2B partner American Girl enhanced our fantasy ambiance with their new Disney dolls portraying Anna and Elsa from Frozen, shimmering in our crystals.
